AMMO (Advanced Machine Learning Optimization) is a machine learning algorithm that speeds up the process of model selection and parameter tuning. The algorithm has recently been made open source by Uber, Facebook, and Netflix. AMMO works by constructing a mathematical model that describes the data-generating process for each candidate model. This model is then used to score each model on how well it fits the data. The best models are then selected and their parameters tuned using a genetic algorithm.
